GRIP XR

Caged Element
GRIP XR is a blazingly fast futuristic combat racing game with rocket-powered, flippable vehicles. Use unique movement tech and powerful weapons and abilities to beat your opponents. Sequel to GRIP, a spiritual successor of the Rollcage games.
GRIP XR is the follow-up to GRIP: Combat Racing, a super fast, action-packed combat racing game with flippable, rocket-powered cars. Use an arsenal of weapons and abilities against opponents while driving ludicrous speeds down twisting tracks.

GRIP XR takes the core of what made the original GRIP fun and aims to improve as much as possible: vehicle physics, level design, weapons/abilities, SFX, the campaign, overall vibes, and more.
We've also read your GRIP feedback loud and clear and are taking it to heart in our development of GXR. The game is still in its early stages with much to do still, but it's shaping up to be a lot of fun 🤘

The demo we're launching soon will give you a nice taste of the game with 5 maps, 2 cars and 4 pickups, but check out below for a dive into some of the game's key features.
Existing & planned features of GRIP XR:
Truly game-changing, this new ability lets you near-instantly jump to walls and ceilings, and acts as a great tool for wild stunts - while also helping a lot with recovery and dodging obstacles. It makes traversing the tracks much cooler overall, we guarantee it 👌

(NOT IN THE DEMO)
This is a MULTIPLAYER LEVEL EDITOR, meaning you and your friends will be able to play a map that is being built in real time!
This has proven to be insanely fun in our previous game Speed Freeks, and the tools we created there will be upgraded to be used in GRIP XR - along with the ingame Workshop used to share maps.
We are very pumped to see what players will cook up, because we saw that many of the OG GRIP fans were asking for a track editor. We know y'all will make some crazy levels. 🔥
-
Carkour is back in this expanded mode called Playground. It's basically a skatepark sandbox to drive around in doing stunts, completing challenges, and grabbing collectibles.
We'll be offering various playground maps as developers of the game, but we suspect that this mode will especially shine through the player-made maps using the level editor.
Point-to-point races, obstacle courses, tower climbs, meme objectives, psycho level challenges, combat arenas, or just somewhere to hang out with other flippable car friends - this mode will be a hell of a lot of fun.
-
For this GRIP follow-up, we wanted to go with a bit of a different art style, so we've taken the visuals in a new direction from the original. It's kind of like how you thought your favourite childhood game looked like when you played it all those years ago.
So GRIP XR's look is not quite retro, but definitely retro-inspired. 📺
Some other things to look forward to later in development:
-
An ingame Workshop for sharing custom tracks + playgrounds
-
Car customization
-
Custom tournament creator
-
Campaign with racer rivalries
-
Unique game modes and mutators
-
Multiplayer madness
We can't wait to get people into the level editor to start making their maps. It's going to be awesome.
