Story

My name is Jack. When I was a little kid I saw a beautiful girl in my neighborhood who had just moved in. I talked to her. Her name was Evelyn. She gave me a beautiful smile. I just wanted a friend to play with.

I had no other friends. She agreed. But then she took a step back and her face changed. "I can't. I should ask my mom first," she said. I was confused. Then I learned that she has a serious illness. She is basically dying. She cannot do much work. So we only played board games.

Time passed. By some miracle she is still alive and well. I could not live without her. Without her innocent smile. I married her.

I am 35 now and we decided not to have kids because of her illness. Starting last month she grew weaker every day. I do not know how much time she has left. But I cannot wait. Her doctor said she has one last chance. But it will cost a lot of money.

I left her at home and went to a big city far away to build a business with my friend Robert. The plan was to make enough money for her treatments. Two months in and we failed. And failed. And failed. We lost a lot of money.

Things got worse when a call came from Evelyn's doctor. "Jack, we need to find money quickly or come back home before autumn."

I have failed in every way possible. Now all I can do is stay with Evelyn in her final days.

But I should give it one last try. I still have time. I took my van and started driving home.

This van can turn into a shop. I can trade with people. I can sell things and make a profit along the way.

Home is thousands of miles away and this is my last chance to make things right.

Gameplay

The gameplay loop is simple and relaxing.

• Drive your van along the road toward home. Pass through different environments. Small towns. Villages. The wilds.

• You never pass through the same area twice. The journey only moves forward.

• Stop at small towns and villages along the way.

• Park your van. Buy items cheap. Collect things. Trade. Sell them and make money.

• Take on side quests. Help people who need it. Some will help you with money in return if you tell them about your situation.

• Your actions shape your Karma. Help people along the way and your Karma grows. High Karma brings unexpected blessings. Money comes to you more often. People are more willing to help.
